Meet Tim Ma
Tim grew up in Melbourne and, after graduating from La Trobe University with a Master’s in Physiotherapy Practice, is currently completing a Master’s in Acupuncture at RMIT University. He has experience in both hospital and private practice settings and is particularly interested in rehabilitation and assessment of neurological and spinal conditions. He also treats chronic and acute neck and back pain with practical manual and exercise therapy. He aims to alleviate pain and help his patients regain their desired physical capacity. Tim enjoys treating with a plan, and you can appreciate a clear assessment and diagnosis with a plan of action from your first consultation.
Tim has been a qualified personal trainer since 2016 and obtained his Australian Strength and Conditioning (ASCA) level 1 certification in 2019. He also became a certified Australia Physiotherapy Pilates Institute (APPI) instructor in 2022. Learning different rehabilitation modalities helps him prescribe a bespoke treatment plan for his patients, and he hopes to obtain further yoga training soon. He can also perform dry needling.
Tim is caring and passionate about all areas of physiotherapy. In particular, he enjoys treating sports injuries, post-operation rehab, chronic pain, work-related injuries, post-stroke rehabilitation, NDIS, and vestibular disorders. In his early years as an athlete, Tim competed as a swimmer and badminton player and is proud of his strength and running accomplishments (ask him about it!).
Tim is fluent in English and conversational in Cantonese and Mandarin. He enjoys cooking, being outdoors in nature, and trying new sports whenever possible.
