Elwin has had extensive training in Psychology, including the successful completion of the Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) qualification. Elwin has practiced psychology in public settings (hospitals) and currently practices in a private practice setting. Throughout his diverse experiences, he has realized his passion for psychology by assisting mental health consumers to achieve their therapeutic goals. 

Elwin sees adolescents, adults, and older adults. Areas of interest include, but not limited to: anxiety disorders, phobias, depression, bipolar disorders, addictions, worrying/’over- thinking’, ‘feeling lost or directionless in life’, relationship difficulties, life adjustments, personality disorders, and chronic health issues.  

Elwin incorporates a range of evidence-based psychological interventions such as Cognitive- Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISDTP), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) that will be tailored to you and your specific needs and goals. At present, he is undergoing advanced training in CBT and ISDTP. He approaches therapy with empathy, hope, and creating a positive therapeutic alliance. 

Besides therapy, Elwin conducts psychological assessments, including assessments of mental health conditions and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments. 

On a more casual basis, Elwin participates in conducting psychological research. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals pertaining to the field of Internet Gaming Disorder.
