Dr Maalini Priyadharshani

Dr Maalini graduated in 2012 and completed her medical training in Malaysia before moving to Victoria, where she now works as a General Practitioner. She has experience working in both metropolitan and regional settings, including Gippsland, and has developed a broad skill set with a strong focus on patient-centred care.

She has a keen interest in dermatology, child health, weight loss management and is particularly passionate about women’s health. She also provides postnatal and newborn care.

Dr Maalini performs a range of minor procedures including skin and lump excisional biopsies, Implanon insertion and removal, iron injections and intralesional steroid injections for keloid scars.

Her additional qualifications include:

• Sydney Child Health Program (2021)

• Diploma in Dermatology – Australian Institute of Dermatology (2017)

• Certificate of Aesthetic Medicine – American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (2015)

Dr Maalini believes medicine is not just about diagnosis and treatment, but also about connection. She enjoys having a chat with her patients - whether it’s about health, life, or anything in between - because sometimes the best consultations include a good conversation.

Outside of work, she enjoys listening to a wide range of music (anything from Tchaikovsky to System of a Down), reading, gardening, playing badminton and travelling - especially when it involves exploring new cultures, architecture and history. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her two children.

She is able to converse fluently in English and Malay language and knows basic Russian.

Dr Maalini is currently not taking on new patients, with the exception of WorkCover, TAC, skin consultations, or on a case-by-case basis.
