Meet Dr Nelly Zwatrzka

Dr Nelly Zwatrzka started her medical studies at the Medical School of the University of Uruguay in Montevideo and completed her studies at the Jagellonian University in Cracow, Poland.
She undertook her internship and residency at the university clinics of Warsaw University.
After migrating to Australia, Nelly worked as Senior Resident/Medical Registrar at the Liverpool Hospital in Western Sydney.
She became interested in Geriatric and Rehabilitation Medicine, and commenced work at the Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Picton, NSW.
Her interests changed to the areas of public health and to the management of health services.
She completed post-graduate studies on those fields and worked for several years in the departments of Health and Community Services as a Commonwealth Medical Officer and in hospital management at Manly and Royal North Shore hospitals.
Later, Nelly worked as Senior Medical Advisor at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Medicare Australia.
During this time, she maintained her interest in clinical medicine in particular, general practice, working part-time at Newington Medical Practice and more recently at Myhealth Medical Centre, Newington.
Nelly enjoys the variety of clinical experiences that general practice offers Her main interests are the management of chronic diseases, as well as whole-of-life clinical presentations.
Nelly is a native speaker of Spanish and Polish. Outside of work, Nelly enjoys travel, gardening, and reading.
