Dr Mohamed El Masry
I have been practicing medicine for 15 years and have experience in surgery and emergency medicine. My philosophy is that patients should receive the highest possible level of care at all times.
Having received formal surgical training earlier in my career in major hospitals both in Australia and UK I can do a lot of surgical procedures such as assess, treating pre-cancerous lesions, removing cysts, lipoma and ingrown toe nails. This includes the use cryosurgeries as well as other advanced instruments (liquid nitrogen/Nitrous oxide).
With an interest in imaging and belief that having ultrasound skills in general practice can offer a lot to patients, I use my own in room ultrasound device to gain information within the general practice setting and the scope of my training.
I can look after acutely sick patients (adults or paediatric patients) due to years of experience in major emergency departments (Nepean Hospital and Norwest) as a senior ED doctor. I understand there are a lot of times when patients are not sure if they need to go to hospital or to see their local doctor and I am always happy to look after those patients and help them to receive the best possible care.
Technology can offer a lot to medicine hence I try to use the latest devices in procedures and skin checks.
I have a strong interest in skin cancer diagnosis and management. I use the latest dermosopes in assessing skin cancers and taking photos for monitoring and comparisons. I have a strong surgical experience which allowed me to perform simple surgeries and complex skin cancer surgeries needing flaps and grafts.
As part of my skin interest I have taken courses in microneedling and dermabrasions. I use dermapen to treat multiple skin conditions. Dermapen is very effective in treating scars, keloids, hyperpigmentations, striae of pregnancy, acne scar and even skin rejuvenation.
