Meet Dr Marisa Smith
Special Interests: Mental Health, Skin Checks, Women’s Health, Child Health
Marisa grew up in the Hawkesbury area and graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1995, completing her internship and residency at Tamworth Base Hospital.
Marisa worked in many rural areas during her GP training including Gloucester, Bathurst and Lithgow, gaining both her fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and her fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice in 2001.
Marisa then settled back in the Hawkesbury where she worked in general practice for 17 years.
As resident of Penrith though for the last 20 years, Marisa has joined Myhealth Penrith allowing her to work closer to home.
Marisa strongly believes in providing a comprehensive approach to medical care and will provide longer consultation times when required.
She has a particular interest in all aspects of general practice.
She enjoys doing minor procedures including skin lesion excision and implanon insertions.
Marisa is well known to be a fanatical animal lover and strongly supports pets as therapy.
