After graduating from James Ruse Agricultural High School, Elliott embarked on his medical career with his 6 year medical degree at The University of New South Wales (BSc (med), MBBS). He then worked in Westmead Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital and Royal Hospital for Women for the next 4 years. During this time, he had pursued a varied interest in his career which prepared him for General Practice.
He first obtained a Diploma of Paediatrics (Dip Paeds) from Sydney Children’s Hospital, then a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) from Westmead Hospital. He had also obtained Certificate in Paediatric Life Support from APLS, Certificate in Implanon insertion from Organon Australia and Certificate in IUD insertion from FPA Health.
Having decided for a career in General Practice, he underwent further general practice training and obtained his fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He has been working as a general practitioner in the Hills District since 2005. He has also completed a certificate and passed part 1 exam for fellowship with Australian Medical Acupuncturists College (FAMAC). With this, he is able to offer medicare rebate to acupuncture services for Medicare and DVA card holders. Completion of Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine from University of Queensland has also strengthened his clinical acuity for skin cancer.
Having the appropriate qualification is only the beginning. To be a good doctor, one must truly care for his patients’ well being and Dr Fang is such a doctor. He is married with three children which further enhances his interest in family orientated medicine. He is still continuing his post graduate studies to better himself in serving his patients.
