Redfern Medical Centre

Myhealth Redfern is a mixed billing practice. We provide bulk billed appointments for eligible patients. Appointments for other medicare and non-medicare card holders will attract private gap fees.

Bulk billing is available for the following groups who hold a valid medicare card:

• Under 16 years of age
• Pension card holders 
• Health Care Card holders (HCC) 
• Veteran's affairs (DVA) Card holders 
• Chronic Disease Management plan (Care plan) consultations. 

For Medicare Card holders who do not fall into the above categories and for those who have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC), an out of pocket costs (gap) will apply to all standard consultations, including telephone/telehealth appointments.  

Consultation gap fee:
Weekdays: $20
Weekend: $40

OSHC/OVHC Consultation gap fee:
Weekdays: $40
Weekend: $60

(Please note: A physical debit card will be required to provide you with your medicare rebate on the day. If this is not available, you can submit the claim via the Express Plus Medicare App. Please ask reception for assistance with this if you encounter any difficulties. We recommend you bring your physical debit card to allow us to provide you with your medicare rebate immediately, instead of requiring you to claim it yourself through medicare.)

Skin checks and procedures attract different fees to consultation fees. This will generally be discussed with your doctor during your consultation.

Skin check gap fee:
Weekday: $60
Weekend: $80

Iron Infusions:
We are able to perform iron infusions here as part of the Myhealth Redfern Infusion Service.

We can consult on the suitability of an iron infusion or patients can be referred to us directly. Please ensure you bring your referral letter, blood test results (Full blood count and iron studies) and your iron infusion medication. Click here for more information

Procedural gap fees:
Implanon removal (with or without reinsertion): $100
Implanon insertion: $50
IUD removal: $50
Skin lesion excisions: $150
Skin laceration repair: $100

Nursing procedure gap fees:
B12 injection: No gap
Spirometry: No gap
Ear syringe: $20 

Radial Shockwave Therapy fees: 
$90 per session 

Chiropractic service fees:
Initial consultation: $110
Subsequent consultations: $90
Enhanced primary care referrals: $80.35 ($20 after medicare rebate)

Psychologist fees:
Consultation: $215*
(*Medicare rebate of $96.65 for mental health plans or $60.35 for enhanced primary care referrals. Your GP can provide you with these referrals if you are eligible.)

Cardiologist fees:
Health Care Card/Concession Card holders
Initial consultation: $325 ($153.15 after medicare rebate)
Follow up consultation: $175 ($100.75 after medicare rebate)

Medicare/OSHC/OVHC
Initial consultation: $425 ($253.15 after medicare rebate)
Follow up consultation: $200 ($125.75 after medicare rebate)
