Flu Vaccine 2025: Book Your Flu Shot Today
Stay protected this flu season. Yearly influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone aged six months and older. Book your appointment now to help protect yourself and those around you.
Who is eligible for a free flu vaccination?
Flu vaccines are provided free of charge under the National Immunisation Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged six months and over, children aged six months to under five years, pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy, adults aged 65 years and over, and people aged six months and over with medical conditions that put them at higher risk of serious illness. Consult with your Myhealth GP to confirm your eligibility and learn more about what’s available in your area.
When should I get my flu vaccination?
To give the vaccine time to take effect, it’s best to get your flu shot as early as possible. Getting vaccinated early helps ensure you’re protected throughout the peak of flu season. Don’t wait, book your appointment today.

Pricing/Fees
Dear patients,
Over the past few years, medical service costs have increased considerably. However Medicare rebate costs have not increased in line with these inflations. Until now we have been absorbing these costs.
Unfortunately we will no longer be able to sustain a 100% bulk billing practice and as of the 1st of October this clinic will be switching to mixed billing.
All patients who are over 16 and do not have a valid pension/concession card will now be charged an out of pocket cost of $30 per consult.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

REVIEW OF RESULTS
Appointments to discuss test results will be bulk billed, whether in-person or over the phone. Just let the reception know it’s about results when you book. Remember, there’ll still be a fee for anything not directly related to those results.
Non-Attendance / Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made at least 2 hours prior to the appointment will incur no charge (as stated in the SMS reminder). For non-attendances, a warning will be issued for the first occurrence. For the second and any subsequent missed appointments, a $30 non-attendance fee will apply, which must be paid before booking any further appointments.

FAQs
Everything you need to know about Dandenong Medical Centre
-
Are you a bulk billing clinic?
We are a mixed billing clinic. We bulk bill patients with healthcare or concession cards and patients 15 years and under, as well as for result-only follow-up appointments. Gap fees will apply to all other patients, so please come prepared to pay.
-
Do you accept walk-ins?
Due to being a busy clinic, we do request all appointments be booked in advance to avoid long wait times and frustration. We cannot always guarantee you will be seen if you walk in without an appointment. In the event you require urgent or immediate care, please proceed straight to either the priority care centres or the emergency department.
-
Do I need an appointment for scripts/medical certificate/referrals?
Yes, you will require an appointment.
-
My doctor said I didn't need to pay for this appointment as it was for results. Why have I received an invoice?
When insurance or Medicare has lapsed or you are not with an affiliated insurance company, we are unable to claim the minimum consultation amount from these parties to compensate the doctor for their time. In these cases, the invoice may be directed to you as the patient to pay and claim back yourself.
