Meet Sonia Evans
Sonia has a long history as a Registered Nurse and Midwife in a career spanning over 30 years. Sonia trained as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in 2007 and worked locally for many years, so has an intricate knowledge of the local supports and services to assist families in the early years with children.
She is an IBCLC Lactation Consultant and has supported many local infants and mothers with their breastfeeding journey as an IBCLC over the last 20 years. Sonia graduated with her Masters of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner and was Endorsed in this role in 2021 and has completed further training in Eczema and Allergy care, along with Infant Mental Health training as most recent educational endeavour. She also works part time at the Royal Children’s Hospital supporting parents and infants with feeding difficulties. Both breast and bottle feeding.
Sonia is keen to work with families to support their infants and children’s health and development needs. She is able to assess, diagnose and treat many conditions of childhood and is able to refer to paediatricians where appropriate.
