Meet Dr Juan Chen
Qualifications: Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Master of Psychology (Honours), Postgraduate Diploma in Education, BSc in Psychology (Honours)
Juan is registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and a member of APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
Juan has been working in the mental health field as a clinical psychologist for over 18 years. She has extensive experience working in public mental health services, tertiary educational setting, and private practice in both New Zealand and Australia.
Throughout her career, Juan has helped people struggling with depression, low self-esteem, anxiety (including panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, generalized anxiety, OCD), complex childhood trauma, PTSD, grief over loss, and eating problems, as well as relationship and family issues. She also supports LGBTIQ communities.
Juan is caring and compassionate, open-minded, and sees things in perspective. She listens deeply to her clients’ lived experiences and treats every individual with respect and non-judgment. She takes a collaborative approach to therapy to meet each individual client’s needs, to help them reach their goals and build skills and resilience in their unique journey towards wellbeing and healing.
Juan relates well with people from diverse backgrounds, and speaks fluent Mandarin.
