Meet Michael Currie
Michael is a clinical psychologist who has treated adults, adolescents and children for over 30 years.
His approach is to think about treatment within the full context of an individual’s difficulties.
Michael has consulted to many public mental health institutions, and supervises colleagues about their clinical work. He has published two books and many journal articles about his clinical work.
Michael has held many posts as a clinical psychologist, and has expertise in treating a wide range of difficulties.
He most recently worked for 5 years as a senior clinical psychologist at Eastern Health Child and Youth Mental Health service, treating young adults and children.
Prior to this he worked for 10 years establishing and conducting a psychoanalysis clinic for adults at the Centre for Psychotherapy, a public treatment unit in NSW.
He has served as a conjoint Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Newcastle.
Prior to this, he worked in community peer counselling from age 17, as well as many community based and non-government therapy services.
