Kalpana is of Malaysian origin, and completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2010.
She completed her general practice training in South Australia and is experienced in hospital and community work in both urban and rural settings.
As part of her training, she completed her Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Certificate in Womens’ Health (CWH) and also a Diploma in Palliative Medicine (Dip Pall Med).
She enjoys all aspects of general practice but has particular interests in womens’ and childrens’ health, skin cancer medicine, palliative care medicine and is also an antenatal shared care GP.
In addition, she does minor surgical procedures including cyst removals, abscess drainage, wound suturing, and implanon insertions and removals.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys travelling, sports and music. She is also able to speak Malay and Tamil in addition to English.
