Dr Dheeshana Sayakkarage graduated from Medicine at Monash University in 2013 after completing a BSc in Mathematical Statistics.
After completing her internship at Goulburn Valley Health, she completed rotations in intensive care, anaesthetics and emergency medicine before starting General Practice training in Melbourne, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019.
She also worked as the Club Doctor for RMIT Football Club in 2017 and has a keen interest in academic medicine, with papers published in journals such as the British Journal of Anaesthesia.
She enjoys establishing long term relationships with all her patients and working in conjunction with them to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
Her professional interests include sports medicine, preventative health, paediatrics, womens health and mental health. Outside of work she enjoys reading, dance and running her fashion blog online.
