Dr Carolina Velásquez Vanegas is a graduate of the University of Barcelona, Spain, completing her internship and residency at Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, including one year in Lyon (France) and one year in Nürnberg (Germany).
Carolina has been practicing medicine since 2005, working in Emergency Medicine and General Practice in Spain and from 2012 in Australia, where she has also worked in Emergency Medicine at Concord, Mona Vale and Dubbo Base Hospitals, as well as in General Practice in Northwestern Sydney.
In 2009 Carolina fulfilled her lifelong dream of coming to Australia and, incredibly, met her Australian partner within hours of arriving in Sydney.
She then fell in love not only with him but with the Northern Beaches in Sydney, deciding then to move and establish her life as a doctor in Australia.
Carolina loves being a family doctor, communicating with her patients and witnessing their and their families’ lives. “This is the beauty of it all!”, she thinks.
Carolina also has a Diploma in Family Planning and Sexual health (women’s health) as well as qualifications in Mental health and Skin cancer.
She also has a great interest in Emergency Medicine, where she has worked over 10 years.
Originally from Colombia, Carolina loves dancing and communicating with people. She lives in the Northern Beaches with her partner and loves going for walks and enjoying a good coffee with friends.
