Welcome Back Dr Kavitha Karuna
We welcome back Dr Kavitha Karuna to the Myhealth Brisbane Showgrounds team. Dr Kavitha relocated from Townsville and graduated from the James Cook University there in 2010. She completed her hospital training in Brisbane and over the last five years has been travelling around Queensland working in GP practices in Brisbane, Ipswich Toowoomba, Hervey Bay and Cairns.
While she loves to travel, Kavitha is glad to be back in Brisbane. She enjoys all aspects of general practice but most especially children's health.
As of the 1st of November 2022 our Clinic will be introducing a gap fee schedule to our International card holders.
The fee schedule will be the same as our other privately billed patients. Please call reception for any clarifications.

About Myhealth Brisbane Showgrounds
Myhealth Brisbane Showgrounds is a Mixed Billings Medical Centre. We take pride in offering the highest standard of medical care to our patients in our purpose built centre located in the newly developed King Street precinct with access via Machinery Street.
We have a strong focus on preventative and supportive health care and enjoy our roles in pre-conception to end of life care.
We offer a friendly, convenient, accessible and professional service.
Parking validation is available if parking at King Street Car Park located on Machinery Street (please notify reception on arrival to validate).
Appointment bookings are preferred however we will do our best to accommodate any walk-ins based on our availability on the day.
Appointments
You can make an appointment by calling us on 07 3180 4768. Online bookings (standard appointments only) can also be made through our website or via the MyPractice mobile app. Long appointments such as Antenatal Care, Procedures, Care plans and Vaccinations CANNOT BE BOOKED ONLINE.
Online bookings are only for standard appointments (<15min). Please call our reception team on (07) 3180 4768 to book any of the following:
- 1 complex medical concern needing more than 15min
- 2 or more conditions

RECORD REQUESTS:
If you change GP clinics and require records to be transferred please note there could be a fee payable. This is dependent on the size of the records requested and if you have any outstanding fees on your account. All record requests must be sent from your new GP practice on their letter head no records will be sent without this or directly to a patient.

Cancellation/Non Attendance Policy
Standard Appointment
We appreciate if you can provide atleast 2 hours notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your standard appointment. Failure to advise us of your cancellation may result in a late cancellation fee of $40.
Long Appointment
Please note, you must provide at-least 24 hours notice prior to your appointment time if you need to cancel or reschedule. Failure to do so will result in a $40 non-attendance fee.
Late cancellation / non-attendance fees must be finalised before booking your next consultation.

For your further convenience, Bowen Hills medical specialist centre works alongside allied health professionals, giving you better access to niche health care. The allied health care team includes a specialist dietician, physiotherapist and pathologist provided by Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology.

Bowen Hills Medical Specialist Centre Services
Purpose-built and providing modern treatments, Bowen Hills medical centre is fully equipped to help with your health concerns from pre-conception to end-of-life care. The fully accredited doctors at Brisbane Showgrounds specialise in preventative and supportive health.
All standard appointments can be booked online or by phone. Non-standard appointments, such as long appointments (over 15 mins) can only be booked by phone. Please call Myhealth Brisbane Showgrounds doctors reception on 07 3180 4768 for an appointment regarding immunisations, antenatal care, skin conditions, driving/work health assessment, 1 complex condition or multiple conditions. These appointments require more time to enable us to deliver the best healthcare available.
At Bowen Hills Medical Centre understand that medical issues can arise suddenly so, subject to availability on the day, we can offer some consultations on a walk-in basis.
How to Register with a Myhealth Brisbane Showgrounds Doctor
Patients appreciate the convenient location of Myhealth facilities, as well as the ease of access to travel links and nearby parking.
